Will there be a Camaro still for 2009 or at least production cuts?

I'm really worried about this. Haven't ordered one yet. Does GM want to even risk bringing the Camaro out in the Spring in the financial and structural shambles they are in, bailout or not? I imagine if the Camaro still does roll out, that the production #'s may be alot less than previously estimated and likely all or mostly special order, with higher pricing due to the limited availability. I haven't been on this site in months just because I didn't want to hear about GM failing, but the truth hurts and all we can do is keep our fingers crossed. What are people's thoughts? give me some positive thinking!

No worries, it will be in the showroom on time and with ABL. If you have the money or the credit I suggest you buy one, life is short and you can't take it with you, plus you will be helping GM solve their financial dilema.

Ambient Lighting. Interior lighting package.

And I do believe this car is going to be produced. GM has already spent the money to develop the car, retool the plants in Oshawa, make production plans, etc. Plus, there seems to be a lot of interest in the car. It may be delayed a month or so, but it will be out in the spring. I also believe that the production numbers will be down for 2009 and possibly even 2010 depending on what happens with the economy. But in the end, have faith. You will see 2010 Camaros rolling down the streets next year.

Even if production numbers are lower, the drop in demand for cars in general will offset those losses if not more.

This car has a HUGE pent-up demand.

IMHO for at least the first year they will NOT be able to build enough of them to keep up with demand.

Don't worry. We'll have the Camaro. Production cuts are up to the week of Camaro production at that particular plant. Expect it to hit the market full-force.

I say get one while the gettings good...especially the V8's. With the governmnet getting involved, there's no telling how long before they outlaw 'em all together!

Please search for other threads on this topic. The Camaro will be built, GM has hundreds of billions of dollars tied up in the program right now, plus ~10k orders. There will obviously be fewer Camaros built than originally planed, since that is the case with almost every single car on the market right now.

And the Governemnt is not going to get involved with telling GM or anyone else not to build V8 powered cars, or do any other specific fiddling.

Well, that's why I asked the question, and I haven't been on in months, so first, I apologize that there were other threads similar, which I imagined there would be. Second, it's not false speculation, it's inquiring. Until I see the Camaro roll off the assembly line, which I gladly want to see, I have the right to have my opinion and ask others their opinion on that matter. Isn't that part of the reason what people are on this forum for? to find out information and share it? Obviously, you have much more insider knowledge being a chevy specialist, since you deal with everything Chevy, everyday. and like you, and everyone else on this forum, I welcome the new Camaro with all the anticipation and respect it deserves, and I truly hope it does make it and starts the revolution all over again.

Assuming the people that want them will be able to get credit (and more bankruptcy rumors don't start) I totally agree with you.
