0-60 times

Hey, i guess you can say i hopped on the camaro band wagon now after seeing the movie. I have never owned an american car and i was planning on getting the 2008 M3 but the camara looks beyond ridiculous i was just wondering with thier base v8 model what will be the 0-60 time assuming the LS3 400HP V8 which im assuming will be the base V8 model correct?

also what do you think will be the other V8 model and how much around would that one cost?

GM hasn't released anything on except that there will be multiplle engines. Everything we'll say is pure speculation. That being said:

Some people think the base v8 will be the LS@ for the first year at least, and the LS3 will be the upgraded v8.

Others think the LS3 will be base, and the LSA or supercharged LS3 will be the top end.

Some people have said that the LS9 will be going into some versio nof the camaro. No one has any idea until GM produces the information....




Well almost everyone. Someone on the boards is building engines for GM in Canada.... Won't say any names though.

Sorry, I agree with 99% of everything there I fixed what was "wrong"...

As for pricing, check out the pricing forums, there's two of them going right now...I'm sure you'll find what you need!

I did find some info on which we could chew a little bit. The 4th gen's 98's to '02's ran usually 5.0 to 5.5 second 0-60 times

I expect the 5th gen to be only slightly more chunky than the 4th gen...maybe 100 or so pounds more (not even worth mentioning, really).

So take the above info and add 100 or so more hp. I can see easily a 4.8 sec...probably more like 4.5 sec 0-60 time...


NOTE: I got my info from yahoo answers, not the most relieable source, I know. But the guy mentioned a "GM employee commented on this very topic. He goes by the name Scott Settlemire, or username FbodFather." So although it's yahoo - I take this for truth.

cool hopefully they put out the ls3 as soon as they launch the car. Personally i am intersted in the highest package they will offer be it the super charged v8.

Also any info on the SS? are they going to make it

I was thinking whiterag, but I know Scott prowls these boards from time to time as well. Fbodfather has made only two posts that I know of come to think of it. I'm sure he's sitting back and laughing at all of us going crazy with speculation.

Yep, speaking of whiterag - I haven't seen him around lately; or else I'm sure he would've answered this thread by now: which would be good enough for me.
