Who wants to see my rear?!?!
bunch of pervs here on camaro5..... coming in here, thinking you are gonna see my butt.
but here's a pic of another 4.10 carnage. Gears were setup well within tolerances (in fact, iirc the backlash was DEAD ON), there was no gear whine at all, under load or coasting, and the contact patch was near perfect. I have installed gears several times before, with no failures before now. This time around, I had my friend do them for me (as he is more experienced than I am, so I figured he would get it within tolerances a lot faster than me, which he did... we got it on the 2nd or 3rd try), but I was watching over his shoulder and I ok'ed everything before I put everything back together. Needless to say, 12,000 miles later, with no drag radial or slick use.... HAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAH ok seriously....

You're right, I took a look at your post from between my fingers, not wanting to see what I feared might be there. What I did see is almost more pornographic: a differential in great distress. Bro' I really fill for ya'. I bought the 410's myself, but the delivery time was so damn slow that by the time they arrived I had already installed a Kenne Bell that obviated their use. I hope Richmond will do right by ya'.

OBTW I have 4.10s too. The ring gear teeth are not fractured - more like ground off at the outer diameter. This looks like crush sleeve failure to me.
Many racers won't use crush sleeves because, if the sleeve yields, the pinnion could move up the ring gear. Using a full thickness bushing or a washer stack won't allow the pinnion to move.

yeah i'm a huge fan of solid pinion spacers. only one set of gears that I have done before this was a crush sleeve, and it was a PITA. Unfortunately, you get a regular crush sleeve from Richmond with the install kit. Beggars can't be choosers, I guess.
I will be going back to the stock 3.45 gears more than likely. I am sending these back to Richmond... either I get a refund or a new set of richmond 4.10s will be in the f/s section. haha.

Oh man, that sucks!
I talked to my Motive gear rep last week and they should have Camaro gears out in a couple months. Thanks Chris @ Gforce |

Could be thw wrong crush sleeve. I've been doing gears for years and never had a problem with a crush sleeve. Solid is better but can be a pain to set up.

I want 4.10's for my LS3 as many others that have not purchased yet but,
this is scary for us that are not mechanically inclined and required reliability as well as performance. |

Well if mine break there is something seriously wrong with them. I ride clutch out slowly. Everytime I launch. Except burnout box & that's in water
