Track results with the shop car.
We've been tracking the results of mods and track times with our 2011 Camaro. It's a 2SS with an A6 tranny.
First outing - 2 " ARH headers,ARH 3" exhaust,Airad intake, our tune Ran 1.93 60' 12.5 at 111mph Race weight 4015lbs Mods now are AFM/DOD/VVT delete, our custom stage 1 Cam for stock stall(idle's at 600rpm) LS7 lifters and tuning Ran 1.97 60' 12.2 at 117mph Race weight 4045lbs(1/2 tank gas) So we picked up .3 and 6mph so far. Car really's need a torque converter which will be next. Plan of the car is to add a Kenne Bell and try like hell to run high 9's in the spring on this motor. Car hit 1000 miles today.:( Thanks Don |

Full exhaust, cam, CAI and tune?
Stock tires? What gear? I would expect better times. Agree converter is important but tires and gear will make more impact. |

It's evident on what is slowing the car down.. -- lack of converter. The Nitto's dead hook for those 60' times. This is the time a converter will drop almost a full second off the slip. That and taking 800lbs out....LOL Gears would work great at this time but it's pretty much a known fact(because I like stroker motors) that this car will be running alot more power in the future so the stock gears will stay for now.

You'll catch up fast enough. I forget what it feels like to go this slow. Took 2 runs in this car then drove my buddy's low 10 second car.More fun hitting 1.4 60's.

No way a converter will drop a full second off that...pipe dream and yes I got the sarcasm. .4-.5 is what a converter will get you with traction. Better tires and a gear will help as much. Issue then becomes how durable the rear end is. Axle break, bearing retainer break, etc.... This is the whole reason I got rid of my 5th gen. Simply not cost effective to make it a serious weekend racer. |

Look in my sig.
The Cam showed the topend with gaining 6mph.Just lacked with the stock converter which takes too long to get into the power range. For comparison the fastest M6 Camaro I've seen run at this track is 12.8. That car had headers so it must of been 410rwhp. |

Yes, the correct converter for this setup can do 1 full second,at minimum .7 due to weight..It would be a 4200stall. I would not run it because the car is not being built for a drag only car. I can care less about the driveline and what breaks. When it breaks it gets replaced. This is the reason we have this car for a shop project to show customers different levels and the results. If you do a search on me over at LS1tech you'll see that I know a bit about racing and how to set them up. My last car was a 99 TA which I daily drove 400 miles a week with A/C (true street car)and it went 10.4's all day in the 90 degree's heat.Car was NA. |

I agree a converter would be the next thing and gain way more than anything else. I also think mid 11's are possible with it. That's a good mph for that car.
