Suspension mods for the best M6 60' times

I ran a 11.200 with a 1.735 60' time on MT drag radials. My trap speed is around 119 MPH. The driveability of my M6 car is great at this point and I would like to keep it that way as much as possible. While this is pretty good for my setup I would like to try to get into the 10s without increasing my boost which is only 5.5psi. I think if I can get a 1.6x I will be in the 10s or pretty darn close. Getting this car in the 10s with DRs without more boost or meth is a challenge for me. What are the best suspension mods and what improvements could I get with these?

So, you're cutting this with stock trailing arms, springs, rear suspension?

get some trailing arms in there... grab a two step from lingenfelter and i would say get actually drag racing tires.... drag radials in a manual are not the best choice once u start getting more and more power.

Nope, I haven't done any suspension mods so far.

I agree on the trailing arms and have been looking at the two step. I have 18" wheels so I can't get slick and would like to do this with DRs anyway. I love driving the car right now and to me it is at a better than stock driveability level overall. I just am trying to keep it as driveable as possible and get into the 10s. I just think it would be a blast to have a 10 second car that still drives like it does right now. As a personal challenge I would like to get the best I possibly can out of my car with 5.5 psi of boost and 559 RWHP. Once it get everything right I can always pulley down with some fuel mods and do more.

I would at least start with trailing arms and then look at toe rods. I would also eventually work my way into doing some bushings, especially the rear cradle and differential bushings. Those 4 items will really get you setup for what you are doing. If you are going to stick with a 18" drag radial I would stick with Mickey Thompsons. We use a set of M/T 305/45/18 on a set of 18" C5 Z06 rims and we have done very well. If there is anything I can help you out with let me know.

Have to agree. The suspension is critical when your getting to this point. BMR did great with the Gen 4 F-bodies and then the GTO's. They are not far from a few dragstrips and do their R&D on the track. The more power you have, the harder to get it to the ground properly.

I know you guys make very good stuff! I am going to talk to the guys at KY Speed and get them to order the BMR trailing arms in a week or so for starters. The BMR site appears to be down right now, but I know you have 2 versions. One is like $100.00 more than the other. The difference appears to be a bearing verses a bushing. Can you tell me why I would pick one over the other? I am sure I will complete everything you listed this winter when the snow starts up and I can take time to do them. My MT Street DRs are exactally what you listed 305/45/18s but on C6 ZO6 wheels. Thanks!

Sorry we missed this post. Unless you will be racing the car more frequently than street driving, I would stick with the polyurethane bushings. Bearings are great for racing because they articulate more freely and don't allow any flex whatsoever. Unfortunately, they don't last as long and eventually develop excess clearances that create noise. not the ideal choice for a street car unless you don't mind changing bearings every once in a while.

The polyurethane we use in our TCA026 trailing arm bushings is formulated from 95 durometer urethane. This is a very low deflection bushing that has been proven to perform and last on the street and track. It is also internally fluted with grease channels that allow you to pump grease to every portion of the bushing through one fitting. You will be more than fine using this part number for street/strip use.

Not sure if this helps since it doesn't apply to modding suspension but I have run similar times to yours. Im using stock suspension for now with nittos NT05R 315 35 20 drag radials. The car is hooking up and put down 1.6 short time. You may want to consider looking into the NT05R it works!!

Yes I am turning everything off, press the TC button once let go then press and hold it down again for 7 seconds. I launched at around 4,000 to 4,200 RPMS. I just let the clutch out fairly quick but don't just dump it. I never slip the clutch. Keep in mind I was using MT ET Street radials IIs 305/45/18s and Spohn 1,400 HP axles. I have since added an LPE ZO6 clutch so far I love it, but I have not been back to the track since I installed it.
