Very Weird Engine Episode

My car's about 10 months old. So last night, I hopped in it and drove to my friends house. Probably not even 1/4 mi down the road. I go inside, we play with his new TV, play some halo, few hours later I leave. At this point it's about 30° out. So I start it up, and wait for the idle to slow down. As it slows down, it starts to feel rough, and I notice the engine light doesn't go out. I rev it a little but nothing, it keeps running very very rough. I drove home, and the whole way home it was driving very rough, very under-powered, and the engine light was on. I'm thinking oh great, now I have to go drop it off at the dealership. I was about to get out and I wondered what would happen if I started it up again. So I started up again, and it was fine. I drove around for a few minutes, ran perfectly.

So what the hell happened?

probably was still cold, when cold it is still "choking" the engine. When you shut it off there is still too much fuel and can foul the plugs. When you start it and it misfires the engine managment will kill that cylinder as to not overfuel the catalytic converter. Then, you shut it off and restart it will be normal. Had you shut it off and restarted after a few seconds the problem would have been gone. There will be a misfire code stored in your ecm.

Why ask people who could not possibly know what the cel was about. Read out the code that is still set in the ECM memory and you will know for sure.

If you don'thave a hand held reader, then go to a Auto parts store like Auto Zone, Advance Auto etc. they can read it out for you.
