A comment on the Dodge Challanger SE
I drove a V6 SE a few weeks ago and had to say that I was really dissappointed in the car. Aside from the great styling there was no excitment at all! I honestly had more fun driving my 91" Escort GT 5 speed in high school than this car. It was very sluggish, had an terrrible understeer to it and the body roll was just rotten. The point to this post is that I am 100% confident that the V6 Camaro will out pace, out handle and flat out, out class the Challanger. I feel bad for the Dodge guys on that one. Its a great looking car but there is a lot of work to be done IMHO. I heard about the 320ish HP engine for the SE next year, but they have a TON of work to do the handling of the car before it will be an exciting ride. BTW, I havent driven the new Camaro so I am going on other reviews and from what I have read in the spec's.
Has anyone else driven the new Challanger? Did you have a similar experience?

The Challenger is probably worth looking at only if it is a R/T or SRT. Beyond that, the V6 Challenger really has nothing to get excited for .

Challenger SE is a solid example of why people say don't get V6's in muscle/pony cars IMO.

do not even think about the v6 till 2010 till the new engine is put in and probably a new gearbox.
the challenger is not a boat...it just looks like one....boats dont go 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. |

The challenger line cant be judged by the v6 cause it wasn't made for the v6. You're "supposed" to get a v8 in the challenger, and Dodge only offers the v6 cause they sort of had to. The v6 camaro will definitely beat the v6 challenger in every aspect except maybe exterior design. I drove the challenger r/t and thought it was an absolutely amazing car, which is why I still cant make up my mind between a torred challenger r/t and the IBM 2lt/rs.
