Camaro brother/sisterhood fading?

Haven't really posted in a while, been busy with the holidays and purchasing my new house and mix all that with work just no free time anymore! But figured I'd share and see if you guys are sensing the same thing that I've been noticing is that where's the brotherhood and sisterhood on the road that us 5th gen guys had up until a few months back it seems? I know I used to get waves and nods and thumbs up among other 5th gen guys on the road up until a month or so back, now I'll wave at a stop light to a fellow Gen 5'r and get a smug look back or sometimes just a blank stare or even one guy with the dealer plates still on his actually saying back "I went with the SS so don't even try kid!" (even though I have an SS as well)...

I know us C5 guys still share the joy and appreciation with others and love these cars just as much if not more than the day we bought them but making sure it's not just me noticing the new owners not feeling the same joy and appreciation for the car as us...

Either way I will still drive on and keep waving to my fellow 5th Gens out there on the road and be happy to be apart of the Camaro family!

There are several in my area who act just as you described. I know of at least 10 in my immediate area that I see frequently and only two of the drivers seem friendly. I don't let it bother me because I know I have cool peeps here that I can enjoy the Camaro experience with.

I just bought mine right before Halloween. I cool if I see other camaros regardless of year or gen. I appreciate cars so it's in my blood. Hell I'm even cool to GT mustang guys. I do notice some smug a-holes. Guess it's just the smug California people sometimes. LOL

It's Bakersfield. I don't even try anymore. Most of the time they ignore me or try their hardest to avoid me. I've gotten one wave from a lady in a SIM V6 here in Bakersfield.
I've left the C5 card on countless cars and they never sign up or respond.
I actually had a conversation with one lady with an IBM SS. She gave me her email, but she never responded....

I've been leaving a lot of cards out as well but samething, no one joining in the reindeer games! I guess it may be a Bakersfield thing or as said, a CA "smugness" that people have I suppose...

I still keep trying but not letting them rain on my Camaro parade!

Yeah that could be...I know California is notorious for people wanting to buy the new best thing so maybe they just don't appreciate the heritage like a lot of us guys and gals on here do!!

Most of the camaros here are rentals from SFO, but the drivers are somewhat friendly. They won't initiate the wave, but will wave back most of the time.

Most of the Camaro's on NASNI Base in Coronado don't wave or anything. I owned the car for a year now and I got a handful of waves from other owners. Most thumbs up I get are from non-Camaro owners and I wave to those people. But I do agree, also the car is too common now.

I get more compliments and questions from the elders or soccer moms. It's cool and could be worst. Could be a smug prick and drive a beamer.

Funny... The only wave/thumbs up I've gotten in Bakersfield has been from a Vette and a Mustang!

same here... i think there are a lot more owners that just like the car so purchased it, or like the camaro.... not that they don't appreciate, but are clueless about this site, let alone the Camaro family or any other club for that matter... like those stangs that give you the look, or those who are unaware of the rivalry.

I still was, give thumbs up or peace sign.

Yeah, not much lately. Gave a nod to a guy at Pep boys who had a black ss and he saw me park in my black lt but I got no reaction. Heck I still get more looks and rubber necking from the kids! Only car people and older folks who know what the car is compliment me on it.
