Challenger SE auto to a Camaro LT stick ?

Next week I am going to buy a new 2011 Camaro LT or SS. I have a 2009 Challenger SE ,4 sp. auto, V6 ,250 hp. right now. I really like the Challenger but it is slow. I had a 2004 GTO, auto, 350 hp. before the Challenger, it seemed to have great acceleration. Is the 2011 LT with a stick shift close to the same acceleration as the 2004 GTO with the auto. or should I spend another 5 grand and get the SS ? I think fuel will be at least $4.00 in 2011 , another plus of the LT. I would like to hear from people that have an LT with a stick. Thanks !

Nope. The SS is closer to the GTO.. the V6 Camaro is nearly a second off (1/4 mile) on average.

i have a 2LT with a stick. i can tell you now that the power of the V6 camaro is not going to be as quick as the GTO. but it will be A LOT better than the challenger. if you are just looking for an average daily driver i think you should go for the LT all the way. the LT has more than enough power to satisfy. but if you really do want to do some serious racing with the car then go for the SS. the SS will be a lot closer to the GTO.

the v6 camaro is pretty quick maybe not gto quick but it definitely gets the job done with the better gas mileage its probably the smarter move if your worried about gas prices.
Im sure you'll be happy with either one.

yeah... and not only that.... the V6 only comes in the auto, no manual..... I still say Dodge lost their marbles... they actually charge MORE for the manual in the V8

Challenger and Charger V6 are jokes until the new models come out with 300 hp, but still are slower because of weight

Anybody else have an opinion on my original question ? Manual tranny is standard on Challengers in 2011.

I have a 2011 1LT 6M and I love it! I have owned V6 cars in the past, But this V6 in the Camaro is very surprising! You can feel all 312hp in this motor regardless how heavy it is! I burned out leaving the dealership to jump into traffic on my test drive! Didn't think the V6 had that much power! I've had lots of fun with this V6. The manual transmission and clutch are solid and it's just fun to drive for a V6 Eco-engine! In stock form I sucked up some Mustang GT's already and a 2001 Camaro Z/28! Test drive them both and I bet chevy will win!

in a word no. But a L99 SS would be slightly faster than the GTO.

Having answered your question...I suggest driving a V6 stick and see what you think.
