Kooks headers and Borla ATAK Too loud
Just finished installing my kooks headers, they fit great and look great too. With the atak exhaust it is alot louder then I was expecting, it sounds great but I think it will be too loud for a daily driver thinking about putting the stock exhaust back on. I'll have to wait till the snow is gone to find out how loud she is outside the garage. Thanks to maryland speed the great deal. I dont want to go back to stock exhaust but needs to be quieter any thoughts or suggestions would help thanks.

since its a catback keep the xpipe and everything but buy a quieter axel back that is 2.5" then sell the borla atak mufflers...maybe go with the S type axel back sound good.

Anyone running LT and ATAK exhaust what are your thoughts on it, too loud, do you like it, its your car a daily driver. Anyone have this setup and go to a quieter exhaust.

The answer to your problem is the Magnaflow Street 2.5 catback. It will give you a great sound without being too loud. It's nice and aggressive at WOT, but nice and quiet at cruise speeds and idle.
The Magnaflow Street is a very quiet catback exhaust, but when combined with long tubes it sounds just right. But it will not be loud enough for someone wanting a real aggressive setup. |

We have a guy down here who is running ARH headers, x-pipe and Borla ATAK axle back. It is very loud. The first time I heard it crank up I thought there was a NASCAR Stock car parked in the lot. He is taking off the Borla ATAK axle back and switching to a different system. I'm not sure which one he's picked out yet.

put the stock axel back mufflers on. jannetty racing claims it has good sound that way and the stock mufflers breath as good as most after market mufflers.

I have Kooks headers and a Borla Touring exhaust. I think that combo is just right.

But the stock exhaust is so darn ugly and heavy. But you're right about the HP. There's very little HP to be made from a catback or axle back.

thats the way i'm going to try it when my car gets here.(kooks or arh with cats and x-pipe) i ordered a vert so i don't want it to be to loud with the roof down. i can always throw the axel back on later.

Going to the Camaro for Hero's Event in March. Look forward to hearing the different versions. Should be able to determine what to purchase after the event.
