Morning folks. Im recovering from back surgery and layed up for abit. 1st, the new camaro has captured my interest in a big way. I was a Camaro owner years ago when I owned an old 91' Z28 1LE w/305/5sp. Not sure how many here know about this peticular order option, but I understand it was an old COPO type car. I enjoyed the car while I had it. I was on the GT500 band wagon for some time following it's arrival and was interested in buying one. I never did, mainly due to the dealers jacking up the ADM and over time destroyed my interest in the car, dealers, or any car in general. Forgot about it all and just enjoyed my hotrod boat instead. Started watching the Camaro and built up a new interest again. The car is actually more to my desires than the Mustang in terms of the IRS and being a NA engine. I am not quite certain of some of the expected equipment on it as I seen mention of paddle shifters? At any rate, I hope GM has more planned for power and handling packages for folks who wish to sharpen these areas up. My feeling here is that anyone who orders the car can also orders these additional performance packages from GM (even if dealer installed) and take delivery as a turnkey sale ready to go with a full warantee. To me it would represent a best value package and retain full resale value down the road in keeping all added components GM. I really like the LS7 concept Camaro. That combination would make for a great, little known, burried order code for a COPO car. I think the basic SS plateform has allot of headroom left in it to shave significant time off the 8:19 'Ring' time floating around somewhere and still be in reasonable streetable form IMHO. Im looking forward to it's release...would be nice to see some pre-release data (SS) on it's capabilities's already known and documented.

Thank you kindly for the welcome aboard and 'well wishes' from Mobile. So far the recovery is going in the right direction and see progress each day, but allot still to watch closely as we go. Are the GM employee's in here keeping folks updated? Or are they under gag orders?

I guess it depends on what level of employee you are asking about. From what I can tell about the lower level employees is....they don't know much more than we do. But of course the higher-ups visit this site often and are sure to confirm and deny some major points about the Camaro. This fact alone makes this site "The One To Watch" for any new news.

However, I just visited from a thread started by an employee that said the car is definitely being built right now, b/c they saw at least 3 of them roll off the line. That's good news to all.
