Had my DT Shorties installed yesterday! What a B***ch that was! The most painful 7 hours at a auto shop of my life! But, they sound screaming! Only issue, one of my cats sits about an inch lower now, which is bad when trying to drive into the driveway. I'm seeing another painful couple of hours in my future....

Congrats Post some clips if you can. I just got mine put on last weekend, but I have the Injen short ram with a Corsa exhaust. Did you notice a BIG change in the exhaust note? There was a change in mine, but nothing really major. I like 'em though

Ya, the shop I went to installed my cat-back exhaust and headers in about 6 hours. It wasn't too bad.

The DT Shorties definitely fill out the exhaust note.

Will short headers sound better for the V6 than long?

Who knows....depends on what your definition of "better" is and also what exhaust you combine them with makes a huge difference of course.

I have a Spectre C.A.I., Flowmaster AMT's and the Doug Thorley's. Yes, there is a definite difference in the sound or "note" of the car. Deeper, throaty and a good "growl" when provoked. I also noticed that it mellowed out the exhaust quite a bit, particularly, on a cold start. I'm definitely pleased with the results, especially the response I get from the petal as well. I'll just have to take it back and have them adjust it a little. My muffler tips also stick out more than I want them to now.
