Will be new Camaro owner... bit scared

scared of all these issues with the camaro. the camaro 2010 even is a new car. no one should be having issues with the car until way after warranty runs out. or atleast that is what everyone i know tells me that people have issues with their car after warranty is over. this scares me a bit that so many camaros which are completely new are having all these problems. is this a camaro problem or more of a self inflicted problem. i really dont want any issues with my car to be... i need it to be as reliable as possble. the car breaking before 50k miles repetitively is TERRIBLE reliability. i hope the problems are more specific unlucky problem rather then it being camaros that are just breaking in general.

my 98 cherokee with 160kish miles almost never broke on me. it really never even gave any problems. same with my uncles lexus.

sorry but i am panicking...

If you as a room full of 1,000 people who has had problems with their car you might get 100 stories about bad problems. 100 stories is a lot, but what you don't hear is the 900 stories of the cars that have been perfect, because really, there is nothing to tell.

my 98 cherokee has over 160k miles to it and i still have nto had anything major happen to it. it never gave me much problems at all. thast why i am so surprised that the camaro being a new car is getting so many issues happen to it. its really making me think twice. i was thinking of getting a lexus gs before this and i am rethinking it now. eventhough i really damn wanted the camaro and still do. but if a car has problems within the first couple years when its new, hwo will it be 5-10 years down the line...

You are reading threads in the "Camaro issues/ problems" section. This is where ALL the problems come. They are probably only 1% of all camaro owners.
If you read a bunch of books about infant deaths before you have a kid you will no doubt think that something is going to be wrong with your kid.

My thoughts exactly.

Also, I'm willing to bet most Camaro owners are passionate about their cars. Since we are passionate and interested in our cars, every tick..rattle..squeak..knock..clunk..glitch..etc will cause us concern (no matter how insignificant it is).
Look on other car enthusiast forums and you will read the same stuff.

this is what i think and hope is happening. my cherokee also probabably woudl make others cringe if they were driving it. but small things doesnt bother me. however i am worried about big things like complete mechanical or electrical/technolgical problems. you know.. the big issues that would make even a normal driver upset.

A Jeep or Camaro, if you drive them really rough bad things are liable to happen. I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler and my 2010 Camaro and have no problems with either. The Wrangler has only needed tires and a battery, the Camaro nothing- has not been back to the dealership. The Camaro has the best warranty I have every had on a vehicle. 5 year-100,000. miles

You got to take what you read here with a grain of salt. 80% of the complaints on this forum are nit-picky imo and the majority of the rest are such freak things they aren't likely to happen. I've owned my Camaro for a year so far and I haven't encountered a single problem.

The warranty for the camaro, what does it even mean? the 3 year one and the 5 year one. what does each of those cover and not cover?

This is my understanding of the two warranties:

The 3 year is bumper to bumper - meaning any defects whether they're cosmetic or mechanical.

The 5 year is power train only - meaning after 3 years only the engine, transmission, etc are covered - nothing cosmetic or mechanical outside of what makes the car go.
