Ive seen this happen on Mercedes before. Typically after replacing or jumping a dead battery or replacing the door. Solution to the problem was to have the deal reprogram the window control module. Not sure if thats your problem, just sayin

There are threads regarding re-indexing the window.

I thought that was for those whose window would snag onto the roof when opening the door?

This seems like a faulty sensor may be to blame. It comes and goes.

You're right, but I figured that it would be worth a shot. I hope the Op has a garage to park in until Monday when the dealer opens, unless the re-indexing works.

Mine did that IDENTICAL thing about a year and a half ago.

I Unplugged the battery and re-indexed the windows.

It almost acted like it was hitting a safety wall as if someones hand was in the way.

Neve had a problem again.

You're lucky it's just the window. In my car, it's the passenger who is acting weird. I gotta' find an old deathtrap of a car for my mother-in-law to drive alone.
