Tint windshield to 35% anyone? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hi All,

As summer is getting hotter than ever , i can't stand the heat coming in from my windshield awhile i'm driving . Yes i do have A/C on all the time but the heat from outside doesn't decrease , the only way to do it is tint the windows that will reduce at least 5-7 degrees?

I have 20% on my doors and back , so i think 35% will be good idea .

I haven't get pull over for illegal window tint yet , not sure if it's too noticiable for 35% on the windshield tho .

Anyone here has done it?

I have 5% on my sides, 20% on the back and 1% on the quarters. With 5% on the top of my windshield, not the whole windshield. And it is nice and cool.

If you tint your whole windshield you are asking for problems with the law. I haven't been pulled over yet. *knock on wood*

well 5% is illegal too isn't it? once it's illegal you're asking for problems with the law period . Agree?

I had 35% on the windshield in my TBSS with 5% all around so it looked alot darker overall.. I only got hassled once in 4 years. I have 40% on my windshield now with 35% on the sides and 5% in the rears and honestly you can hardly tell its tinted but it makes a big difference.

Not sure how the law enforcement is with tint in new york but here in phoenix they dont really care much.

35% might be a little too dark when it comes to night driving... I personally have 20% all around and 50% on the windshield. Have had this setup on my past 2 cars as well, no problems with the law all the times I got pulled over for other reasons. 50% on the WS I think is perfect, it's really not that dark during nighttime driving and during the day I don't have to wear sunglasses. Again, 35% IMHO might be a little too dark but to each their own

If you are looking to block out the heat, check out this 3M tint. https://wot.motortrend.com/3ms-windo...int-77391.html The darkest it comes is 40% which worked for me.

I'd like to see how much darker the windshield makes it. I have my sides at like 16-18% and you cant really see in them during the day, but I like it.

I got 5% (limo) on every window except the windshield. I did either 35% or 50% on the entire windshield I cant remember. But it looks really good in my opinion. No hassle yet with any of the police. It does make the overall appearance look much darker inside, especially since every other window of mine is 5%.

I have to be digesting this wrong, you tinted your ENTIRE windshield or did you mean the top 8 inches?

I always tint my windshield, I live in Florida and the heat is ridiculous thru the front windshield. I always do 35% windshield and 5% on everything else including sunroof.

The Camaro is the first time I tinted a full front windshield. We did 20 on sides, 5 on the back and 50 on the front.

I like how it takes the glare out of the headlights at night and it is very easy to see out of. The car is also so cool in the day. The nice part is you almost never need sunglasses..
