3" exhaust when to get it???
at what point does a 3" exhaust become a benefit?. if i just do a surcharges would it be a benefit benefit then? would it hurt to get a 3" exhaust on a stock engine?

A 3" system generally gives you a deeper tone also they usually have less rasp. They work fine with the stock motor but most 2.5" systems aren't that restrictive either. I'd say anything under 600 horsepower is fine with a 2.5" system, if you plan on going over that I'd recomend 3" for sure. So if you plan on adding a supercharger down the road I'd go with a 3" system. We carry several options but recomend MBRP or Stainless Works retro chambered systems. They both sound killer and we can discount them pretty deeply for you.

I'd say even on the stock motor it's a benefit over a 2.5" system...although it may be nominal until you start adding the mods. I'd think I would have made a little less power on a 2.5" system.
I don't know if there are any comparisons between 3" and 2.5" but I'm sure if there are people will post them up.

While I have not done back to back with the Camaro just yet, 3" cat backs have helped the LS family of engines.
Testing on a number of LS2 and LS3 powered Corvette's (which have a good flowing muffler stock) I have seen 5-8 hp at the rear tires by going to a larger 3" muffler kit on those cars. I have seen ZERO loss of performance by going to the larger systems at any point in the RPM range. |

Above 700 RWHP, but I really like the way the 3 inch sounds over the 2.5 it is deeper and not as Rappy out the back.
