LTs and Cats - Which Axle Back?
I have the Bigflow Exhaust 1 7/8 LTs and Cats. This setup requires that you cut the stock exhaust to install.
So I still have the stock catback. It is a nice balance of quiet at low speeds and yet at higher RPMs it gets pretty loud. But the as it gets louder the noise is sort of a high pitched slapping sound, not all that appealing. So to fix that I am thinking of an axle back setup to replace the stock mufflers. It will also improve the looks and shed a few pounds. All good. I would like to keep it quiet if possible at low speeds and since I take long trips in the car I want to avoid the dreaded drone. I do not want to get a full cat back since I would have to cut it to install. Would a Flowmaster Hush Power Axle Back be my best bet from a price and sound perspective?

stick to the common ones, borla, flowmaster..... maybe just a resonated x pipe will change sound enough. dont go with a deep sound if you hate drone

The borla S-Type seems to a nice setup with header/Cat. I would also ditch the factory resonoter for an X-Pipe Setup. Magnaflow makes a few nice ones for less that $75.00. Check out Jordan at JDP motor sports.

I went from SLP LM II to Borla Touring... Couldn't be happier... Drone is gone, I can talk to people at speed inside the cabin and it still is very noticeable when I floor it..

Sure there are many options. But many are loud with LTs and have the drone. Since I have an LS3 I have no resonator. My third desire would be good value.
