Dyno Is In!! Questions

Big thanks to ATLPF.com and look forward to having them do more stuff for me.

So, I finally got my car dyno'd and tuned, also LS3 converted with LS9 cam and LT Headers added.

Mods are in sig, what do you guys think? My car is a daily driver, and seems to have really good manners. Running at 7lbs of boost with a 3.6" pulley.

At what point are these A6's seeing drivetrain failure? Drive shaft, axles, rear, tranny, etc.

Also, curious if anyone knows what a out of the box maggie with their tune is putting down roughly with factory manifolds, etc?

Car wasn't dyno'd before the work, trying to get a rough idea of about how much it was probably putting down.

Given that the motor isn't forged, would it be safe to crank the boost up another pound without risk of breaking? I do drive somewhat aggressive, but this car will probably never see anything but grippy all-season street tires at best.

I'm broke for now haha, any suggestions on what I should do next?

Send a message via AIM to DietCoke
10psi with a good tune is fine on a stock motor. You'd probably see around 575hp/600tq on your setup

I say your tranny and driveline should be fine for now, unless and until you do a lot of thrashing at the track. Wheelhop is what kills drivelines (mostly).

As for boost questions, talk to John and he'll steer you right.. He'll be doing my blower cam soon.

looks good mst. how does it pull on the street? I can tell you I am at 2k miles on the stock drivetrain at 700 hp and all is intact (knocks on wood), but with a manual. Was the torq falloff a product of the stock A6/torq converter?

I was wondering that too, but he's got a Yank TC. Something is causing that torque to seriously drop. Bet it would launch like a beast though!

Quick thread jack, you got it backwards. That's me pulling over a ZL1 in Atlanta

The dyno was done with the TCC unlocked, so the lower RPM torque numbers are exaggerated due to the torque multiplication of the converter. The numbers start coming down when the converter stalls.

To get an accurate representation of engine power in an automatic, especially with a high stall converter, you have to do the run with the TCC locked.

What he said. Basically, ignore the torque spike.

MST- I'd say you are right where you need to be without any further mods needed. The A6 tranny is bullet-proof; no mods recommended to me by Lingenfelter at 650 HP.

Driveshaft axles are another thing. But you should be okay.

My stock 2SS A6 dyno'd at 328 HP.

If you change pulleys, you'll need to be re-tuned.

And to the OP: There shouldn't be any problems adding another pound of boost.
