Boston Acoustics

How is the sound system in the 2SS and 2LT? Everyone happy with it?

I love mine. It sounds incredible. I had Bose surround sound speakers in my '05 Chevy Avalanche which was an option over factory. These Boston Acoustics speakers are very nice IMO and comparable to, if not better than, the Bose speakers.

I honestly believe that unless one is really pinching pennies, then the 2LT or 2SS upgrade is worth it. Lots of good features for ya.

I like the BA system but felt it was lacking "BASS". I installed 2 10" subs and an extra amp. Just my 2 cents, but it sounds a lot better now.

BA is ok, but its very boring in my opinion, it not only lacks bass, but when you play bass at high levels, sounds terrible, so I'm currently in the midst of doing what Cruzn has done and installing aftermarket subs and an amp, other than that, it handles the mids and highs amazing

The BA system definitely lacks bass, and turning the bass up will make the BA subs buzz and rattle.

My 2003 Toyota had a better stock sound system. Even considering that the sub blew out, the sound was better IMO. From what I've read, you have a crappy amp in the Camaro to thank for that. I value the limited trunk space I have so an aftermarket sub+enclosure is not in the picture for me. I'll be looking at an amp upgrade soon.

Make sure to get a bass knob to the after market amp. I have the BA bass on EQ to -12. Run all my bass thru subs. Adjust bass to what song is playing. Not perfect but well worth the addition.

ba sound

i like the sound of the upgraded ba but like mentioned it does lack in the bass. i added 2 JL 10" subs with rockford fosgate amp. i agree you have to get the bass control with the subs. this is my set-up. i also used a dual sub box.

If you plan on modding the car in a way that will increase the volume of the car (LT Headers/Exhaust/Cam), it may not make much of a difference.

Just a random thought to consider.

After having the stock sound system in my 2010 I find the BA system to be a good upgrade worth having. I like bass too but I don't know how loud I would be playing it with a subwoofer in the trunk. I EQ out most of the mids I think it has good sound. I don't think its as good as the Bose system they put in the GMs though.

besides a small bass, the image is nice. suggest to add a proper sub in trunk for better sound

I like my system. I don't over power the speakers. Not a big fan of blowing out my windows with bass.

I would recomend disconnecting the front center speaker thou to help with the overall balance of the sytem.

There is a thread on this suject.
