This may be the one!!

So my dad stopped and looked at a 2001 SS pewter 6spd today in OH. He said the car seemed flawless. Car had all paperwork, documentation, oil change records. Paint was flawless. But my dad said the clutch was starting to get spongy aka wear. The car had 77k miles. He wants alittle under 10k for it. My dad gave a 100 depoist it. We have till next saturday to get the car if we want it. What do you think? I love it. I know a new clutch can get pricey but im in auto tech at my school and think i can get it installed for free there and give me some experience.

01 Pewter SS... DO IT! Mine had 83K when I bought it and I got it for 10K on the dot.
A new clutch is never a bad idea anyways, plus it'll give you some nice experience.

Buy it, pick up an LS7 clutch while you're at it. Or at least a performance clutch. Might as well start modding when you can. Not like a stock clutch is gonna stay in there for long.

Alright all well it did/didn't work out. There is no possible way we could pick up the pewter this week. We are trying to work with him but idk. In the meantime we went and talked with our local dealer. They have a 2002 Camaro SS black. It is prestine!! Only 45k miles. They wanted 16500. Got them down to 15500 but they are very set on the price. We walked, the most we will pay is 15k. The most we offered was 14500 so we will see. Going to wait it out a little.

15K is still a bit steep for 45K miles.. Its not a WS6.

Yea but all over the Internet the 2002's if well kept are going for a pretty penny. Me and my dad decided we won't pay over 15k. That's our top of the line

I honestly think its a fair price for a stock SS with under 50k sure you can go out and find a modded SS or Z28 with heads, cam, ect... But IMHO I would never buy a used Fbody that had anything more than exhaust and a lid I would prefer stock or close to it unless it was a GMMG car.

The car looks clean I would have thm put it on the lift to check it out I am a stickler for a super clean car so to me the underside needs to be just as clean as the exterior I know that is super rare but this just means the person took real good care of the car.

Good luck I hope they take your office looks like a nice SS.

As for the WS6 I had a 99 I traded it in for my 01 Z28 best move I ever did just of many little issues with the TAs (headlight motors going bad, power antenna going bad, side leather interior paners cracking next to the window, ect...
