Hit the race track

Not sure if this is area to post but here goes..feel free to re-place in correct area.
I will try to condense this,,
took car (v-6 auto, 2010 - injen cai) thats it.....best time for the day at valdosta 14.649--- 95.3 mph..

about 1 yr later,, cai- ported throttle body, trifecta tune, mrt v2 exh.
last nights run best time.

14.622---95.56 mph.
sport mode auto/with nannies off..

so with all the added stuff. NOT a lot to cheer about, i know some will say, those add ons are no HP related..but..lets say, cai people do say 16 hp gains for argument sake, also mrt's should let out more air i would think, for a bit of hp/ ? all in all, i guess what i am eluding to is that the stock v-6, is a fine engine, and these professed HP gains in my mind should be taken with a grain of salt. I know all the in house test etc on the internet, but in real world On track one on one race with a stock v6 vs my car..the difference was negligable for the added items. thanks for reading ryd.

Hard to compare track results from 1 year apart. There are many variables to affect you performance. Weather, Tire condition, track condition ect. all of this is easily a 1/2 second difference.

Agreed!

If you have your times slips you can easily look up the weather conditions and the DA to help you compare the times!

You can always post here....we love our Pete!! I agree...there are many things that can affect the way it runs. Did you run this most recent run at Valdosta as well????

now Im having second thoughts about adding long tube headers since there seems to be no difference between stock and modded.

Their is absolutely a difference! As VTXrider pointed out you simply can't compare two time slips without KNOWING the weather conditions! Heck I've seen my Camaro slow down by a couple of tenths through out the day just because the temperature went up and/or the barometer went down. Weather seems to have a BIG impact on the LLT...

I've seen before that assuming all else equal every 10 degrees of temp is equal to 1% on horse power. Then add to this the effect of different humidity, air pressure, and wind.

Also don't forget the tires, some people assume that worn out tires grip better, they are like slicks. Wrong!! They grip less, you can't launch as well. If you have your original tires on a 2010 I assume they are getting worn down.

ihavea..lol yeah thats the ticket..

Well to answer the above comments, i hear what you are all saying...but, with the mods installed i would have thought that i did way better then the stock v6 next to me. at best, maybe 3/4 car length after approx 4 runs. As for weather, it looked and felt better actually then Valdosta..but thats something else. In any case i took off the tune and will try to assess how the car runs with this off for now..thanks ryd/
