Camaro Disciple looking for input

The Camaro Disciples will be meeting in a few weeks & I would like your input.

I do NOT want any OLD complaints. The Camaro Team are well aware of problems & take your complaints very seriously.

I am looking for your wishes, dreams and any changes you would like. Remember that most changes come with trade offs, $ cost or weight. What would you like me to present to the Camaro Team?

Janet

What old complaints could there possibly be coming from the vert group?

I do have a serious suggestion though... Cooled seats option! My Avalanche LTZ has this and it feels like you're sitting in a puddle of water. This would be a great feature on hot summer afternoon with the top down.

I would like to see a factory supported Tune that doesn't void the warranty.
Retro badging package
Order with a track/performance package which includes factory installed CAI, improved suspension, performance exhaust, etc. The core upgrades a lot of us make.

Janet, a hard top convertible would be a nice feature. GM has done it before in the past.

As for your comment on not wanting old complaints, you could choose better wording. Until GM PRODUCES and RELEASES permanent fixes for rub marks, breaking bows, loose cables and differential problems for our C5 verts, then these are CURRENT issues. Until then, us $40K problemtic vert owners will continue to voice our discontent with GM.

Couple of things

More seat adjustments, ie: ability to lean it back more. Cooled seats would also be great.

Send a message via AIM to Mr. Wyndham
Guys - Janet is one of the 15 Camaro "disciples" that tap into the Camaro community regularly to gather input and take it back to the Camaro team so they know the heartbeat of the enthusiasts. Please be respectful - she is not responsible any issues you may have experienced.

She is asking for your input on any changes you'd like to see the Camaro as it develops and moves forward. She copy-pasted that message in all the main forums, it was not a shot at convertible owners/top problems.....

Please take advantage of this direct line to the Camaro team, and provide constructive feedback, knowing full-well they're aware of the top issue.

How about a spare tire or flat run tires. This is for the convertible/ss.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. Please continue to submit them.

I am sorry if I offended you. I did not want to fill this thread with problems that Chevrolet is currently working to correct.

Very much support this idea!

Other suggestions, though these may already be on the "known issues" list, so disregard if that is the case:

1) General - bringing back ABM or similar blue would be nice - but the main secret to being able to sell them successfully is to have color chips at the dealer and online that actually resemble the color. The ABM was beautiful, but the color chip looked terrible.

2) General - interior plastic door panels and dash scuff quite easily

3) General - improved center console design and storage - pop-up compartment in dash would be nice for sunglass storage, coin storage or for optional addition of nav system.

4) Vert - improved heat airflow for cool weather top-down driving. I end up closing passenger side vent and divert center vents to me but end up having to cut off floor venting completely to even feel the heat at all while driving top-down.

Redesign of the top so when you open your door in the rain the built up water on the top lip doesn't fall right into the car.

More color choices would be great! "Interim availability" is not cool.

I would go with limited runs like Chrysler did with the Challenger. How about bringing back heritage colors in 3 months or 500 car installments. I vote for Royal Plum first. Take a color from the 67-69 model years. As far as the car I would like bigger sun visors. When my lady is complaining they are to small with the top down I know it is an issue. Bring back the 4th gen size. Much better to cover the windshield header. I agree with a spare tire for the SS even the vert. A must have especially on a road trip.
Most of us don't want a front plate drilled into our front bumper. How about an accessory to mount it somewhere else from the factory.

Get rid of the mail slot and get a different hood like the old Yenko Stinger or like the aftermarket is providing. Make it standard or an option on the Camaro

Factory option for a track day roll bar; or simply a low profile safety loop that would give some protection, but not necessarily by track legal. Some BMW models have pop-up rear head rests that activate during a roll over. In a nut shell; styling with some functionality. Thanks for your work.
