brand new camaro driver
Hey guys just bought a used/ new 2700 miles 2011 camaro six speed. When I test drove it I had been a way from manual cars for about 5 years so it wasn't unusual that it was a little different but i wanted it so I got it and will never regret it...still it drives alot different then most cars probably because of the hydraulic clutch I suspect, is this correct. I just want any tips and pointers on Good shifting techniques as far as starting at first and so on.....because a couple times i got done driving when I stalled it from a stop going into first I smelled a funny smell like brakes which I think I was probably burning the clutch a little, is that horrible??? Any mechanical info how everything works would be a help, also notice the friction point is really high up which im not used to can or should I adjust it? Thanks a lot

Hydo clutch...yes. You just need practice, you shouldnt smell burnt brakes your burning up the clutch. Lay off the transition a little quicker, your dragging the clutch, get it in gear then quickly and smoothly release the clutch. When you walk you dont take your time between steps do you? Imagine not or your will fall on your face. Same with the clutch but not to the point where your jerking the car everytime your let off the clutch between gears....smooth and quick enough to not jerk the car...unless your racing!!
