First Hand Experience with Seibon CF Hoods?

Hey Camaro5 folks, I'm looking for someone to report they're experience with Seibon CF Hoods. I'm particularly interested in fitment and installation for street use. I've some very recent experience with another brand of CF hood and it isn't good. I also have just installed the Seibon ST CF trunk. That install went well and looks great but there are a few posts I've seen where people mention fitment or other issues with the hoods. I'd just like to get a first hand report on Seibon hoods.

Does the Seibon hood have the underside reinforcement panel prepared to accept the windshield washer bracket/nozzles and insulator pad? Is the area where the prop strut bolt mounts reinforced? How is the gap at the fenders and front clip? Even and consistent? Does it actually latch closed? Believe it or not the one I worked on this weekend had all of those issues.

I've done a search for Seibon CF hoods and all I see are stock pictures of the top of the hood. There seems to be a ton of threads that show up in the search but so far I've not been able to find first hand descriptions or experience. It would take hours to search through all the pages of each thread that is listed in the search results.

Not interested in opinions on style or looks. If I'm going to give up on the other hood I have, I'd like to know that it's replacement will be properly made. It costs a ton to get these big parts up here.

I'm a mechanic not a body man, so I need this thing to fit and function without modifications. TIA

We exchanged PMs. He has the same trunk as me but, you're right. He has the RKSport hood.

Sorry to dig and pry on this folks but if the people selling these would/could provide real info or answer questions about these hoods, I wouldn't have started this thread.

I thought for sure I'd get multiple responses judging by the number and quality of moded cars I see on the board.

I have had 3 types of Seibon hoods on my car. the fit is perfect. Now as far a the trunk goes. the First Gen trunks curl in at th ecorners and rub. I do not know if the second batch has been corrected. Seibon Hoods are lighter than most other CF hoods because the fiberglass backing is thinner than other CF hoods I have seen. That can be good or bad. The other brands CF hoods cost considerably more than Seibon. I am very happy with there Hoods, GFX, and all of the other products besides the trunk. I'm dealing with the trunk issue because I like the molded in rear spoiler. Hope this helps

Hey racer778, thanks for the reply. It does help to know that the fit is great. Do you use the stock hood support/gas spring? Did you install the windshield washer nozzles and underhood pad onto the Seibon?

I put the ST trunk on my car and it fits and looks great. Purchased a couple of weeks ago so maybe it is a later batch.

I have the Seibon TT. Am very happy with it!! Purchased it from autobarber.com, great price, great packaging, easy install. Winshield washer holes all in place, the only thing I had to do was raise one of the bumpers up a 1/4", fit great.
