Question DFCO ON vs. DFCO OFF (Video & Poll)

Here are a few clips with Deceleration Fuel Cut Off (DFCO) ON followed by DFCO OFF.

I saw quite a few posts discussing the topic but none with video so I thought I would share.

I have CAI, LT headers, catless midpipes and exhaust.

So...Pops or No Pops?
What do you prefer with your ride?

(video was from my cell...rubberbanded to the visor...sorry for the lower quality)

My vote has absolutely nothing to do with your video...my car makes some pops now and then off the throttle...but if it sounded like yours does in that video (and I hope that's just the cell phone)...I'd be pretty angry...but I think your phone just makes them sound ridiculous.

I like the popping, keeps other people around me knowing someone is there So I haven't disabled DFCO on my car

It is pretty loud...that is why I wanted to see the difference ON/ OFF. If you put the video into HD there is less distortion.

At first I thought I had an exhaust leak but everything is tight...

Anyone with the same setup (Kooks Stepped LT/ No Cats/ Corsa Catback) have a similar sound?

The top being down doesn't help quite things either...

I do not like the popping myself. However, it is a gas mileage saver from what I understand

I run similar exhaust. I had the popping tuned out. You have a nice car, not some JDM wanna be. No need for it to sound like you are too poor to keep it tuned.

Sounds great with the stock exhaust, but it's just too freaking loud and harsh for me personally once you add headers and exhaust.

FYI- You can keep DFCO enabled and get rid of the popping by adding timing to the DFCO Entry/Exit spark tables. It's not the fuel cut that makes it pop, it's the spark values.

EXACTLY...in fact...the fuel cut is when the popping stops, DFCO doesn't cut fuel instantly when you lift off the throttle...why people don't get this, I'll never understand.

With the stock settings in my car, with the cam/headers/3" bullets, there was a substantial BOOM when I tipped back into the throttle...timing cleaned it up a lot.

Thats good info. The tuner only gave me an on/ off option when I talked to him about DFCO and the popping.

I'm gonna see if I can get an updated tune modifying the spark tables.
