Solo or Flowmaster?
I am stuck between Solo axle back or the Flow Masters American Thunder. Looking for input from those who have one of these set ups. Thanks

I have the Flowmasters on and it sounds great, low rumble at idel, pretty mellow while driving normal and nice rumble when you get on it. Not loud enought to attract alot of attention if you dont want it.
Install was easy especially if you have access to a lift.

I have the FM outlaw, Same good rumble at idle just louder version of AMT. I never was a fan of a muffler delete like Solo

I've had a few different mufflers/straight pipes and I prefer the Flowmaster Outlaws. They're the loud, 2nd only to straight pipes, and aggressive. I had Super 44s on my car when I first got it. Kinda quite for my taste but ZERO drone.
Although I have a cam and long tubes, that Flowmaster sound is pure sexiness. I get compliments at what feels like every street light and gas station around here.

The solo sounds good on their website and the fact it doesn't have drone for my vert has my interest. I had flow masters 44 on my 01 SS and loved them except for the drone. When I listen to them online, yes I know its not the same, the Solo's sound more refined and the Flow Masters sound more throaty. That's my dilemma, because I can't hear either in person on SS...

For the price, you cant go wrong with the flowmasters. I had my flowmaster AMT for over 2 years and I love the sound, even with headers. I first heard then on a car at the first C5F and me and my wife loved the sound.... I also get compliments on the sound too. There is a small bit of cabin drone, but its not a head splitting drone, and when WOT, it roars.
I have heard the Solo exhaust as well and it sounds nice too, but I personally preferred the Flows. Just my $.02 cents.

I have the Solo Mach XC cat back with the J-pipes and love it! I also have the AFM deleted. It sounds great at idle not a whole lot louder than stock, but way deeper note. However when you get on it, it really opens up! For me that makes the best of both worlds, the ability to get out of my neighborhood at 4:45 in the morning and not wake everyone up, but getting onto the interstate people know there is a 6.2L beast under the hood.
Here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225103 you can check it out with and without the high flow cats too! Not sure how much difference the loss of our roof plays into how an exhaust sounds, so that is what sold me on the Solo too, seemed they though of that and if you still had AFM active not to make your ears hurt on long road trips. Good luck!

Keep one thing in mind, If you go flowmaster and do get drone you do not like you can add J pipes to kill it. The outlaws, dont know about the AM's, had alot of drone, I added J pipes and no drone. And if you want even louder you can delete the stock resonators( on the M6)

I have had SLP Loudmouths, XS Power and now im currently runnin dumps at my X pipe. When funds pick up im going Flowmaster, you cant beat that old school chambered muffler sound IMO.

I've heard negative things about Flowmasters but never one bad thing
about the Solo J-Pipes which I have on my L99. Great price, muffler delete rumble, and best of all no drone at any RPM.

I checked out a local 2010 A6 cam/headers/stock resonators/flow american thunder axle back/ cai setup, sounded tough. Was a little louder than what I'm looking for but I'm also now 45.
