License Plates
Got my new plates in today from the dealer.
They offer to put them on, and I'm ok with that. He then proceeds to -try- to put on dealer license plate holders. I see them, and pretty much tell him there's no way he's putting those on the car. I mean, really...the plate holder had both Chevy AND Ford logos on it. There is absolutely NO way I'm putting a Ford logo on my car.

Was he going to pay you for advertising...thats where I draw the line. No pay no show!!! I debadge all dealer logos before leaving the dealer. I ask them to remove them before i take the car. Unless they are going to pay rent on that part of the car....Im sorry its my car.

When I go and buy a new car....I use that as a bargining chip.....if they have already put them on the car, as in all the cars on the lot already have them, I tell them that since you are wanting me to advertise FOR YOU....knock off another $1000, OR debadge it.....and they alreays have, but I wish just ONCE, they would just knock off the bucks.....I'll be happy to debadge it myself after I get home!! LOL.

They weren't going to pay me, that is for sure.
I was less concerned about that than a FORD logo though. I mean, c'mon...you are a Chevy dealership!!!!!

I usually order my cars from the factory, so they never get the dealer junk on there other than the plate holder.

Goo Gone will lift the stickers pretty easily. That and a little heat.

They put a sticker on mine even though I told them not to. My salesman did NOT listen to that part of my instructions, I was just relieved they didn't install the front plate holder, as this would have killed the deal and sent me back to Indiana without a car.
Decided not to sweat the sticker, didn't say a thing and removed it myself. |
