Exclamation Just installed some headers today and have a ?

Ok.... I spend like 7ish hours installed headers in this heat today...

I installed some ARH long tube headers with high flow cats. I also already had on a MRT v2 and a BBK air intake.

so.... I start up the car and everything sounds "fine" meaning louder, which is what i expected and all. But when I go for a spin down the road, it sounds higher pitched than before and very raspy up to about 4800rpm, then it sounds down right mean. Is this normal?

also... I havent hooked up the o2 sensors yet, cause im waiting on extension cables, and also I'm going to get a tune. Now my question is, will hooking back up the o2 sensors and getting a tune have any impact on the raspyness?

I don't think the o2 sensors will. Raspy is a common problem with LTs. Your best bet is to get a magnaflow resonating x-pipe. It completely removes the rasp. It is around like 100 bucks? but you would have to get it welded on.

Do I need to have it welded? Or can it be put on using band clamps?

I believe it has to be welded. Not 100% sure though.

Most likely welded. But if you can find one prefabbed you can cut and clamp. Not likely you'll find on prefabbed.

But do the X-pipe. You'll be glad you did. Get rid of that shitty resonator.

As far as the X-pipe vs H-pipe it's really just sound. Just to the X pipe.

Reason you will not find one prefabbed is because once the resonator is cut out the typical fabbed x-pipe wont' be long enough.

haha ok, I might just pay a shop to install in. After sweating out in the heat for 8 hours today fighting with these headers. How much is a fair price for someone to install it?
