Weld 17 s

So here I sit trying to make a decision on wether to find some 18 inch corvette rims and mt streets ( can probably have them in 2weeks or less),or order welds 17s but they say has a 3 to 4 week wait time. I want to race here in a couple weeks so it is hard to be patient . With my power level would I see a big traction difference beetween the two? Does anyone have a use set they want to sell? Asap

The big benefit to the 17's is that if you are not happy with the performance of your 18" drag radials, you can actually make the switch to a true 17" (Hoosier) drag slick. None of the tire manufacturers make an 18" drag slick. Of course the wider sidewall on the 17's is a little more flexible and "productive" on the drag strip, giving you more traction, and hopefully a little less shock on your drivetrain. Probably the biggest difference is the price difference. You can get 18" corvette wheels fairly cheap. But technically, the bolt pattern is just slightly off (it still works). The 17" Welds on the other hand are fairly expensive!!! If you have the money to spare, I would recommend the Welds all day long!!! And if money is not an issue...then I would certainly recommend Bogart Wheels (if you are looking for a track-only wheel).

I bought my Welds from McCormack Racing and it took exactly 3-weeks to get them. However, the tires that I bought direct from M&H Tires took about 8 weeks!!! I was kinda pissed about that.

A buddy of mine is selling his 18" wheels/tires for $2000. (front skinnies) He said the rear DR's have 5 passes on them. Here are a few pics. If you are interested, send me a PM and I will provide you his name and number. The wheels are FLAWLESS !!

They are a direct bolt on with no modifications needed.
