Installed multi-color footwell lighting

Hello everyone

Today I received some LED lighting in the mail that wasn't supposed to come in until tomorrow. Thanks USPS. A few hours later, went to go install them. This thread documents part of the installation + a video at the end demonstrating them.

The kit I ordered from LEDGLOW came with six, eight inch LED flex tubes. It was 53% off on Amazon. Heres a picture of all its contents excluding some items such as the multimeter.

All I did was zip-tied two of the LED strips in the front seat footwells. You can take off these side panels in the interior to fish the wire from the passenger side to the drivers side. Its pretty simple to do this.

To power the control box, I used an add-a-circuit type device on the headlight fuse. I wont need to use them during the day since its hard to see them anyway. If I do need to use them during the day, all I have to do is switch on my headlights. No big deal there. Under the side panel I took off, there is a bolt that can be loosened to stick ground wires under.

If you're doing something like this, it helps to use various types of crimp connectors. Heat shrink also works well. I've also seen people go as far as soldering wires together; that also works.

Here is a video of them in action:

Theres a nice turquoise color in there that fits the the color of the penstrips on the doors PERFECTLY.

Love them? Hate them? Let me know!

Thanks guys. I got 4 more strips left. I'm probably going to put some in the rear footwells if I can find a place to mount them
