Lower grille delete, any pics out there?

I'm picking up a ZL1 grille tomorrow and I plan on installing it soon and I was thinking about leaving the lower grille out. does anyone have any pics with one removed. I searched on Camaro5 and google and im getting alot of replacement grilles pictures but none with it removed. Maybe it cant be done or looks stupid. What do you think, any ideas?

I'm sure it will look different. Hell you might just be the first to ever do that. Consider yourself a trendsetter . I would love to see pics if you truly go the route.

This is the best i can do for you.

Your going to have to do alot of work underneith to make it look clean. The pic above, you will have to shave off all the clips that the lower grille attach too. Then all those screws will be visable on your lower valence.

Plus in the pic below you will be looking at the bottom of the crush support frame, and the very bottom of the radiator.

Can it be done.....yes.

But like i said you will have to do some work that basically you cannot ever return to functional. once you shave the tabs....new bumper if you dont like the look. Or make your own mesh.

Well I did the ZL1 grille swap today and I tried to leave the lower grille out but it looked odd. It would probably look good with a little paint and the tabs cut off but i dont want to go that far right now.

Pic of old grille if anyone wants to compare. It's subtle but mean at the same time.

Are the grilles a simple retro fit or is there any modification that needs to be done?

Did you replace your DRL's with the halos from AAC? I want mine to look exactly like yours, where did you get them?

Nope take one off and put the new one on, you do have to remove the bumper.

I got the Halos and plasma bulbs from AAC. The halos are wired to the factory parking lights with the kit they sell to convert DRLs to foglights. My fog lights are still DRLs until I install the remote swithch AAC sells. A little personal info, don't believe anything negative you read about AAC. I was a pain in the A$$ with questions and they answered every one without a problem. the only problem with the AAC stuff is that its more of a hacker / tweeker mod. so you have to make the stuff work its not plug and play (but thats why we do this to our cars or everyone would have it). They do answer emails and phones non stop to help with the install. I also put AAC dome light and footwell lights in, now thats a good cheap mod.
