Mailslot LED

Installed the Dayliner LED for the Mailslot. Took it apart, pulled the LED's out and then painted it Matte Black first. Then ran a wire to the Sidemarkers and the DRLs to keep the DRL's on during Auto at night. Took about 2 hours, personally was a bitch to run the wires so little space.

But love the finish product. Will take a night picture later tonight.

Show it without the LEDs on please. I hate when you can clearly see the strips during the day.

Is this easier to install then the AAC light bar. The AAC is so stiff it takes clamps and 3M tape to keep it the mail slot and it don't even fit. Its too long. It bows out! Anyways wanted to see if this one is better than the AAC one.

Here is one with it off.

I originally bought the AAC one and when I recieved it, I was suprised to find it so rigid. I even called them to question why it was so rigid and they told me to Heat it up first before bending. My buddy is an electrician and even he thought it was kinda cheap for $60. A LED strip on a plastic rail. Anyways while putting it in, we could never get it to sit flush with the frame. It eventually snapped because it never really sat as flush or nice as the video and instructions, not to mention it was WAY too long and we had to make 2 holes on each side to fit it through. If we only made 1 hole there were 4 LEDs that sat inside the Front End and with the lights on it looked odd with a glow coming out.

We salvaged the workable half and used it for extra Trunk Light. Bought the Putco Dayliner. All I did was pull the LEDs out, Paint it all Matte Black and reinstalled the LEDs. WAY easier install since the frame is bent perfect for the Mailslot.

Besides the repaint, (1 Day), took about 30mins for the Dayliner and another hour 1/2 for the running a wire from the DRLs to the SideMarkers to keep the DRLs on.
