Allocation
Could some one explain this for me please.
Does a dealer just get a certain number of cars per year or per month or what. If I ordered a car and was number say 6 and the dealer only had 5 allocation does that mean I will not get the car?

ok...ready for some bad news?
ok dealers were allocated a guide number....which is the amount of camaros they would recieve from launch till the end of the third quarter(september)...so if your dealer was allocated 5 and your number 6 then you wont get your car till after september...unless they pump out the total amount of all guide number allocated cars b4 then, then they will begin the next batch...so even if your dealer gets all 5 of his cars by the end of june, ull have to wait until the rest of the dealers throughout the country get their guide number amount of cars...do you understand what i mean?

Also, bear in mind, that regional GM distribution managers are shifting new allocations around every week. If your dealer happens to be a good seller on 'all' GM products, they may wind up with a small amount of extra allocations each month.
With that few allocations to start with, I wouldn't hold my breath though. Its the dudes that were pushing 30+ allocations to start with that are coming up with new allocations. If you get lucky, 1 of those 5 buyers will back out and you can snag their order. That seems to be happening alot over the past several days. Lots of people getting cold feet after the GM news recently. |

I have (had) the same situation...my dealer was initially "given" 32 spots, i was the 44th order. They received an extra 5 at the end of March. now, there are only 2 orders ahead of me
things are looking good folks...

Something is not right with your dealer. I was 8 out of 8 and am now at 3000 status after only 3 weeks. If you are 6 out of 12 you should be at 3000 or better by now. Call your dealer and have a nice discussion and see what is going on even if you have done it already. Remember, you have money invested with his company so it doesnt matter how often you call or "harass" them. Is your dealer big in sales or a small town dealer. This seems to be affecting orders as much as allocation.

Did you order from a small town dealer? That could be why.....just speculating of course cause mine is a huge dealer and his cars are moving quickly. Wonder if that has much to do with it.
