Thank you SO MUCH to the Camaro5 Family!

As some of you are/were aware my mother entered Hospice last week and passed this past Sunday, she’d been battling stage 3B lung cancer for 4 ½ years. I’ve been in NY the past 10 days and just got home late last night, it’s been a vey long, sad week.

I wanted to say thank you to all of the Camaro5 members that contacted me (in various ways), your support was great and much appreciated in this very difficult time.

My mother was a great woman, even on her death bed she wanted to make everyone happy. Long story short she paid off the balance on my car, + gave me a daily driver to ensure my car is babied (among many other things). She never actually got to see the car, only though posts here and pics I sent via email (as she lived in NY and I live in Orlando) but she loved it as much as I did and wanted to ensure I owned it outright.

I will miss my mother and appreciate her love, friendship, generosity and most of all her dedication to being a mother!

I love you mom, RIP!

I am very sorry for your loss what she did for you in her final days was awesome. She must have loved you very much. Time will ease the pain I lost my mom in 1998 and I still miss her but it easier to handle now than when it was fresh.

She was so slick about it. She was transferred to Hospice on Thursday, when she got there she asked about the car, in particular how much I still owed (I never thought anything about it). Thursday at the lunch after the mass my stepfather handed me a check and said this was your mothers last wish. I was an only son and she always spoiled me, but this just overwhelmed me. I refused the money at 1st which upset my stepfather but my wife said I NEEDED to take is as that was her dying wish.

Then we were told she wanted us to take their 2008 Hyundai Elantra with 19K miles as she felt the construction by my job was not good for my car. This from a woman that NEVER drove in her life. How / why she was thinking of this is beyond me but words cannot express my gratification.

To lighten the mood up a bit, I could not wait to take the Camaro for a drive this morning but holy crap. After driving a 4cyl for 1100 miles it's not smart to step on the gas the same way when you 1st jump back in the Camaro. Let's put it this way, I probably lost 1/32 of tire this morning in my driveway.

My condolences nyrfan. I lost my father 13 years ago, but couldn't imagine life without my mom. My dad had lung cancer that spread to his brain and bones very rapidly. God Bless your mom, and peace be with your family.

nyrfan......we all are very sorry for your loss....words are not enough. Obviously, your mom was a very special lady......we all can feel it in the thing she did for you, even in her last moments, you should be very proud, as we know you are, that you had a mom like her.

Condolences. I can tell you loved your mom. It's hard to lose a parent....or any loved one really. It's nice to have a mom that nutures you, and it sounds like she did. Enjoy that last special thing she did for you.
