11 years ago today...

With time many of the emotions, anger, hurt, and pain this nation, the United States, felt have faded or healed. I, like many of my generation (and older) can remember 9/11/01 like it was yesterday. In a matter of an hour, that cool morning in NYC, the security we felt in the borders of our country vanished. We watched as country men died. It wasn't just the towers that fell, but rather a nations faith in itself.

It was in a great moment of insecurity and weakness that we discovered the strength that this nation still posses. For me personally, 9/11 has become a day of reflection, of quite mourning, and a day to be thankful for everything that we have.

To those innocent victims, to the brave men and women who rushed into battle when the rest of us ran away, and to the country that pulled together in your honor, we will never forget.

Pics from ground zero, my last trip to NYC:

The best way we can pay respect to those that were taken from us on 9/11 is to "NEVER FORGET".

I had a unique opportunity to hear President Bush speak yesterday at a conference I'm attending in Vegas this week. He told us about what he had experienced that day. Very
Inspirational.

I was onboard the USS Carl Vinson in the middle of our 2001 deployment when this happened. I will never forget that day. I will also never forget that on Sept 12th 2001 we steamed into the North Arabian Sea setting up battle plans for all the other ships that would be coming. We didn't leave until we had bombed the Taliban out of power some 3 months later.
