Cylinder heads?
What brand of heads make the most power on these engines? Mast? AI? I am looking to get a set and need some input. Thanks.

Mast bought out PI which (IMO) used to be the best damn head you could put on a LS3.
I'd challenge that Mast is now holding that down and I know that there is some stiff comp out there with the WC Heads, AI heads, and 510Racing being some of our favorites as well. Good luck in your quest! Ivan |

I would say All Pro hands down. They been making great heads on LS blocks for a long time. All the fast guys/gals are using them.

Has anyone actually ever seen a decent engine dyno test, showing aftermarket or ported heads against the stock heads, on a stock cubic inch LS3? I havent.

GMHTP did an article that tested every head out there against the stock heads and the MAST showed best gains and the very reason I went with the MAST Black Label heads.

That test was on a 468 cubic inch engine. Can you tell me about your combo? Horsepower, before and after the MAST heads?

http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...p/viewall.html http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...p/viewall.html As I would expect the stock cam will bare show what the stock rectangle port heads will do much less a set of ported ones. Throw a healthy cam in the mix and its a different story. The intake port on the stock LS3 isnt the problem(as popular cams will show), its the exhaust port. The exhaust port is the first place I would start at to get the best bang for the buck on a port job. I wouldnt see nothing wrong with someone wanting to run a set on the street with just a cleanup on the intake but have almost a full blown race port on the exhaust side.
