Transporters not Transporting?

Just stopped by my dealership here in Southern Jersey by Phila. and was told that my car is built along with others and that they are sitting at the plant because the transporter is on the verge of bankruptcy. So they are not shipping the cars because they are afraid that they won't get paid if on Monday company closes or files / things are not settled. If resolved then shipping commences. Anyone else hear of this? God doesn't want me to have one:fighting0040: ; we shall see almighty one!

Don't sweat it.

Here is why I am not worried. The car is popular and people have cash.

At the end of the day. That cash will get things moving.

The Bankruptcy judge will issue a continuation order allowing work and money to flow.

The details.. well we have to wait.

I would be extremely surprised to learn that there is only one vehicle transportation outfit in the country. If the current one is really going bankrupt, then there should be several others ready to step up and earn extra money.

100% agree with you. The business won't stop because of the filing! Lets face it, when the dealer is invoiced, the transportation costs get paid!

I figure the cars that sell will sell. Trucks.. forget it. Ford and Toyota are gonna dominate. I think Crysler trucks are history. GM trucks probably will stay at least for the heavy duty models for industry.

Crysler will probably be making minivans for the most part. And GM the smaller cars.

Do you have an order number? See if someone can track it.

Don't give up.

I had read that GM were paying their suppliers on May 28, hourly employees on Wed and salary employees on Thurs. That way everyone was paid before filing, and thus hopefully keeping operations going. Unlike Chrysler who filed before paying their suppliers.
