2012 Camaro SS vs. Audi TT RS

Ok, here's the race....

2012 Camaro SS vs. Audi TT RS

Camaro:
6.2L V8
3800lbs
426hp Stock (LS3)

Audi TT RS:
2.5L Turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 20-valve inline-5
3300lbs
360hp Stock

Who wins and why...

Both Strip and Road course

My vote: The TT RS wins in both cases. Its 4.1 0-60 time will help it out of the hole along with its AWD drive train. As for a road course, I believe the TT RS will win also due to its light weight and AWD.

Thoughts?

I agree on the road course. I think it's a driver's race in the 1/4th. Camaro has the power to weight ration, but the TT will have a much better launch. The SS will be playing catch up but might pull it off.

Thats very true. That little 2.5T is going to run out of air at some point.

The TT-RS traps around 110 in the 1/4, so I don't the SS is catching it on the top end. I think the Audi wins in both areas. The DSG version of that car, which I don't think is sold in the US, runs mid 12s stock. The 6 speed is a high 12s car.

DSG not in US :(, but thank God it ain't. Honestly stock for stock SS doesn't stand a chance. Close in 1/4 mile if SS doesn't run one of those 13sec times, but heh why not throw in the 1M BMW for kicks and giggles.

Do you guzzle down some Becks German beer afterwards to wash them down. Audis are expensive to own and will always be.

I'd be all over the Audi. Amazing looking and faster and way more comfortable to drive.
