Rotate tires

I own a 2012 Camaro. The front tires are a different size than the back tires. Do you rotate the tires from side to side? If yes, how often?

no, they are directional tires, meaning you can't move them side to side, they are only designed to rotate one direction.

you can't rotate them..

If you have the 20" Pirrelli you can rotate side to side

Yes, this is correct. If your 2012 car came with 20" Pirelli's, rotate side to side every 7,500 miles, according to the owners manual. The Pirelli's do have an outside and inside to the tire. So when they were mounted on the rims the outside of the tire is on the same side as the outside of the rim. But they are not directional tires. When you rotate them, the outside is still on the outside.

This quiets the road noise down quite a bit. At 5000 mile oil change the dealer said this is recommended.

What gm tool said. It's in the 2012 owners manual for non directional tires, which the Pirelli zeros are on page 10-68. My local tire shop doesn't think it does any good to rotate side to side, unless its also balanced. and if you ask members here, you'll get one yes for every no! I plan to rotate side to side at 7,500 miles but really haven't been convinced that will do any good.

Just read the manual. The opinion there is just one VS the misinformation you get here.

I believe the 2012 owners manual is worded differently then the original 2010 on certain subjects. And this is probably one of them. My 2012 Manual words. "Different tire sizes should not be rotated front to rear. Use this rotaton pattern if the vehicle has different size tires on the front and rear." (There is a picture of a side to side rotation pattern). I just rotated mine side to side a couple of weeks ago. Rotating side to side can only help in getting the longest life out of your tires. It makes sense. One other difference on a 2012 is that you need a relearn tool to reset the TPMS. You can buy a relearn tool from here.https://gmspecialservicetools.spx.co...s.aspx?id=5677
I did not relearn mine yet, I need to buy this tool, or stop in at the dealer and they will do it. No big deal. When I pull up the tire pressure info on the DIC, I just have to remember that right is left and left is right. No warning messages have come on the DIC since I rotated them.
