Exhaust

Myself and a couple of friends installed a complete maganflow exhaust from the cats back, every bump I hit it hits the crossbar where the resonator used to be, it is driving me and the wife nuts.

I went by a local mufflet shop and he said it was tight and not much I could do, ANY THOUGHTS!

Need to put a spacer of some kind ( or a stack of washers ) on the crossmember! This should lower the crossmember where it doesn't hit the pipe! Don't worry,it can be fixed!good luck!!!

There's a spacer included with the Stainless Works Retro Catback to solve this. It's a plastic washer made to go between both sets of screws for the tunnel brace. Maybe one of the vendors can chime in on exactly what it is or how to get one specifically.

There are braces made for aftermarket exhausts, or you can do what I did, and throw a nut on each corner. I went with the nut just because I thought that being threaded it would hold better, but washers work too.

It's not that it isn't tight but that it wasn't pushed up THEN tightened. Very common problem with pretty much all catbacks. You'll have to loosen the connections, push up on the pipes, then retighten. When it settles, it may or may not hit anymore. You can also use washers to lower the tunnel brace. I like washers since you can add just what you need. As long as you have 3/4-1in clearance, it should be fine.
