Outdoor ZL1 Car Cover %$#@$

Ok, maybe it is me but I beautified the car and put my "outdoor cover" on it. Went out today and took the cover off and there were spots of dried salt wherever the seams lined up,,,,, I went through the roof. I assumed this "out door cover was water proof, was I wrong in this assumption? The white piece is on my cell phone so no freaking out.

What car cover do you have, they have out door and a indoor? Is your cover two ply with white inside? Then a inside car cover. It did come with directions to not get wet.

The outdoor is not completely waterproof, there is a post about it a day ago.
A car cover has to let air in and out. Or the paint will look like plastic was put on it.

Car covers have to breathe, so not sure about true waterproof. Did those marks come off with some light buffing?

I have heard where some car covers will rub against the finish if left on for extended periods of time. Be mindful of windy days as the rub marks may be even worse.

Yes, wind will wear though the paint if left on for a long time. That is why the indoor cover is way softer. The outdoor cover is very smooth but stiff.

Buff that salt off with some wax, it should come right off. Most car covers are not completely waterproof.

Any cover left on a car outside in the wind will destroy a cars finish. It's better to not cover the car than to cover it unless its inside.

I only use a car cover in the garage and only after I've just detailed the car. They will scratch and in the wind they will destroy your paint!!!

I don't usee car covers or micro fiber as they will scratch. However, I will be forced to use my car cover when I visit my mom on Thanksgiving because she has cats !

I double cover, outdoor cover over indoor cover. Prevents scratching, keeps it fresh and clean. ZR1 and Stingray are inside, so the Z has to sleep outside.
