That is hallowed ground. My God, so many sacraficed so much for so many there. Please.... don't use it for any other purpose other than to preserve it a shrine to show what extent man will endure to battle evil. The 6th of June, 1944. D Day. It's part of me, my generation, my parent's....the Baby Boomers... it's beyond any measure of human sacrafice and bloodshed since the American Civil War. It's Not to be used to promote a product....for any reason.

I respect your opinion. In a way you're right, It's like a hallowed ground. But I'm not agree with you on the fact to how to celebrate this ground, to how to remember what happened and honor the past and people who died. According to me, the best way to honor is to visit this place, to speak about it at any time it's possible (and we do it now thank to this thread). And then, have a meeting with camaros is not THE best way but ONE good way ! All people who were presents, alone, with wife, with child were satisfied by this day. And the children were able to learn (again) what happened. What could be better... ? You're wrong when you think we promoted a product ! You misunderstood on the mind of the meeting, on the state of mind we have ! Camaro is like I wrote a part of freedom, an american product/car yes you're right, but how could we honor better than we did. Our meeting with the camaros on this hallowed land is a wink of the commun past between North America and France. The 6th of June, 1944 "It's a part of you", but don't make the mistake "It's your part". :( It's a part of you, like it's a part of me, like it's a part of many people everywhere in the world who are concerned directly or not. The liberty is to let each celebrate the way they think just. Europe is a land with a long, rich and terrible history, with peace and war periods at anytime. All living people gave their blood through their generations. Life must go on, and what we could do the best is to remember and stay humble ! Our meeting was based on a good mind, not a mercantile mind. And we share this great moment with you to show you how we are grateful. By reading the comments, I think many people here have understood this way of thinking. Please the controversy is useless. OldScoolCamaro, I wish by my comment you will not be hurted and maybe understand our state of mind. And don't forget : WE RESPECT WHAT HAPPENED AND WE HONOR WHO FOUGHT AND/OR DIED ! (civilians and soldiers) NB: I will no more respond to other controversy, not in the mind of the celebration we did I will thank all people from everywhere in the world (America, Quebec/Canada, UK, Australia, Europe, Africa, Asia,... and France) who fought for LIBERTY during the second world war, and during the other wars pasts/presents/futurs ! Take your car, go to France through the channel tunnel and have nice days, welcome. NB: a very very very long and complex history between France and UK ! good and bad history, peace and war :( A very close history between UK and Normandy in the middle ages (Example: Guillaume le Conquérant, Duke of Normandy and King of England too) |
