There are cams that make more power, yes. But the gt9 is strong and makes a broad power band gain and is plenty safe for driving long term.

A GT9 cam uses LSK lobes, here is what the Comp Cam book says about those lobes: They are VERY hard on parts and not recommended in street applications!

I've got PRC .675 dual valve springs with titanium retainers, PRC was highly recommended by Texas Speed, that's where I got almost all of my motor parts.

I am currently changing my setup and after tons of research I decided to go with Brian Tooley springs. Great product at a great price and he will spend the time to answer any questions.

BT springs are top notch. I'm running PRCs but if I switch I'm going to BTs.

I use PRC EHT springs on my GT-11 cam that is very similar to the GT-9. I think they are good to .675 lift. The GT-11 and GT-9 does need a good strong spring.

The springs they sent me were Patriot Extreme's at 0.660" for my GT9 ( cathedral TFS225cc heads )

Dont have huge miles on it yet, but it's working great. Super smooth idle, and still performs superbly up top.

I'm running Brian Tooley springs now. My valvetrain is much quieter. My Patriot Golds failed. Stay away from them.
