injectors??????

what is the big difference between

FAST LS3/LS7/L76/L92/L99-Type 85 lb/hr (892.5cc/min) Fuel Injectors =$395

and
ID 850's
other than the ID 850 are twice the price.= $920
I know lots of people run the FAST one with no problems.
Sooooo
why are they worth that kind of difference in price?
tuning? if so why would that mater to the end user.
power?
longevity?

just tring to figure this one out?????????
THANKS!

I imagine the fasts can be made to work well by a good tuner, but I have seen instances where they were never made to run perfectly. With I'D's that doesn't seem to be an issue because of the correct data being available. When I switched mine tuning was easy to get right. Even by me and I'm far from an expert.

Fast injectors are modified Stock injectors, so 6 sets will run 6 different ways.

99% of aftermarket injectors are only checked at Full Flow and sold that way i.e. 60 lb or 85 lb etc.

This tells you Nothing about what that injectors flow at Idle.

The money you save by using cheap injectors will cost 4 times more to get it right in tuning cost if the tuner Really spends the time necessary to get everything right and it will still never be perfect.

WIDE open tuning is the Easiest part of the tune.

Idle, cold start, hot start, Power enrichment, Throttle transition fueling, are the hard things to get right when you guessing at injector data.

ID-850 are manufactured, tested, and Verified to some ridiculous low Percentage of error, and then come with all the RIGHT injector data to load in your tune file which leaves your Tuner to deal with MAF and Timing to deal with.

Ted.
