Unhappy Zl1 problems? Need help!

OK, First I ordered my car on Oct. 10, 2012 and took delivery on 12/31/2012. It was delivered to the dealer at 2:30 P.M. and I took delivery at 5:15 P.M. Ok now here we go. First I noticed the rear passenger side rim was scratched. Then I started seeing scratches on the drivers side rear tire on the 1/4 panel. Then scratches on the roof above the driver's side door. The dealer was closing so I just took it home and the next day I pulled it outside and there was scratches all over the entire car. Even on the insert on the hood. I truly believe that this was done during transport. There are more than 30 spots of scratches. I can see the scratches but can't feel them. I then noticed a scratch in the windshield on the passenger side that was about four inches long and I could feel it!

Ok, I also put the car in neutral set the parking brake ( Manual trans) got out and then back in. The car was parked on a slope and once the parking brake was released the car did not roll and it felt like the rear brakes were dragging. I pulled on the brake and released it again and then it released the rear brakes.

Then, when driving the car at stop lights I could smell burnt oil coming through the vents with the heat on. I know it is new however I don't understand how the oil smell was there. Is this why people are using catch cans?

I have ordered this car for the third time and finally received it and it has been so stressful. Comments please!

sorry to hear that man. very frustrating when buying a new car and having those kind of problems right off the bat. I would be talking with your dealer and see how they handle it.

Take it back to the dealer, express concerns. They can't and Won't do anything until it is brought to thier attention. Sorry you are having problems.

Sorry I did not say it first. It is at the dealer now and they said they "should" be able to get most of the scratches out and then they were going to get a new rim ( three month back order ). Then they said the windshield was an easy fix. "?" and then the brake is an adjustment. Which I understand that. I am just wondering if I should return and reoder another one or deal with this one.

Expect longer on the stock rim or have them take it to a rim repair shop.

I don't get it, dealer doesn't want to make warranty repairs? Things happen all the time and it shouldn't discourage you from enjoying your car.. I could list the things that I've taken my car in for repairs but it doesn't bother me all too much. GM customer service has been very great, even compensating me for my troubles when I didn't even expect it.. Stop stressing and take it in to the dealer and maybe call GM to get a case# attached to your repairs..

My wife and I are both car people and she does not want a refinished wheel. Also did you smell the burnt oil smell when you stopped or did you smell it during the break in period?

Calling GM I will. I did not think of that. Thanks. The dealer is willing to work with us. The dealer is really good I am just worried about the paint and windshield ok well all of it. This is the third new camaro we have bought from them and they treat us well. I just wasn't sure if I should return the car and get a new one. because the buffing of the paint will be taking off some of the clear coat. I plan on having this car forever.

I wouldn't want one either, just an option, I will wait till I can order a new one for mine, Curbed it..

Now I have smelled rubber/oil LIKE smells only after pushing her hard in both speed and braking, but the smell is normal...to me it smelled more like belts that had slipped. I did find out this was the brakes and they were not brandished yet.

Either way I see you have it back at the dealer, I am sure it is killing you not to have it after all this wait and having the issues you are, HAVE Faith my frined and ENJOY the ride, cause it is FUN
If this dealer can't do it, take it to one that can.

This could be the Hill Start Assist you are seeing
