I had forgotten to drain my catch can and realized it had been about 4k miles since I last did. Here is what I found. The color is because its been real cold lately. This is also the most I've caught to date but I usually drain it ever 1-2k miles.

Gotta love the RX catch can.

Do you run your car pretty hard or is this a normal amount? I have a can on order. Just wondering how much I should expect to catch.

I drive it pretty hard at times and track it as well.. usually I only get a few ounces ever 2k miles

It is a nice feeling to know that that crap isn't gunking up your engine.

Is there really about a quarter cup in there? Looks like it might be about 4-5 oz which is a lot.

There is A LOT in there. He said he drives it hard and even tracks the car. This is what makes the blow-by the worst. Just taking your car for a cruise around town or driving it to dinner on a Saturday night every once in a while and you won't get near that much. The harder you hammer it, the more oil you'll catch.

Damn.. ive had a catch can on my car since around 1500 miles.. Ive had car for 1year 2 months now and dobt have anything come out of my catch can and has 8k now. Im wondering if the people that catch so much didnt follow the break in like it says in the manual?

You might want to double check how you have it plumbed just in case. All engines have blow- by and the LS engines are no exception especially if you romp on it from time to time regardless of the much debated and infamous break-in procedures people swear by. If it were my LS I would be concerned if I had nothing in the can after 6.5K miles.

That may make a small difference. I've had a can can on for 45k miles and while the amount caught is less than in the beginning, it still catches enough not to go without.

All the lines are ran right, ive looked at others and also posted some pics on the forum to make sure.. is been 2000 miles since ive checked it last. Ill do it today and see if anything comes out

It gets ugly from there. This is really the biggest problem with the new Camaro. That and the tri-pronged blivot. Delivered 21 Jan 2013
