Does 1LE Have Speed Governor?

Since the 1LE uses the ZL1 front tires on both front and rear, and the ZL1 does not have a speed governor, anyone know if GM removed the governor on the 1LE?

The 1LE has the governor. The only Camaro without it is the ZL1.

Thanks, Austin.

It's a shame they left that on. I can't see any safety reason why, given it has the same tires, and even the same aerodynamic pieces. Maybe they didnn't want to stock another ECM.

The aero is different between them, I believe the 1LE still produces lift at speed the same as the SS and the ZL1 produces down force.

I think you guys might of hit it. I saw an interview with the Camaro chief engineer on the web about the 1LE, and he said the ZL1 front splitter cancelled the extra lift from the wider front 1LE tires. Therefore, it would have the same lift as an SS.

Thanks.

Plus, you don't have the power to go much above the SS speed limit. 5th gear will be effectively the same as an SS (taller in the trans, shorter in the diff) . Same power, same effective top gear, non MR suspension, no ZL1 aero package = no need to monkey with the speed limit, the car is going to top out just like an SS. Get above 140/150 ish without a lot more power and it takes forever to inch up more mphs. And be real floaty above 150ish. The ZL1 does it with supercharged power and aero and MR.... The 1LE is more aimed at road course action with the close ratio trans and handling tweeks.

Stop mis quoting and mis characterizing the Camaro and GM all over this forum, please. It is all you have done on all of your post is to bemoan everything about these cars and GM. What do you drive again?

Keep it up and people will begin to use the T word.
