Here's how I installed my Elite Catch Can

Here's how I installed my Elite Engineering catch can using the Rx ZL1 bracket. Rx sells their bracket separately. Call 941-721-1826 if interested.

I used a hacksaw to cut-off the portion of the original Elite bracket that attaches to the can. I did this because the Rx bracket would otherwise contact both the top and bottom sections of the Elite can and possibly make unscrewing the bottom half of the can difficult. Using this piece from the original bracket creates some space between the Rx bracket and the side of the Elite can (see the third photo).

With this setup, the original bolts supplied with the Elite can are now too short. So I purchased two 10-32 3/4 inch bolts. To prevent the heads of the bolts from going through the slot in the Rx bracket, I added a couple small washers.

All in all, I'm pleased with the way Elite can is now mounted. It seems good and sturdy, and the Rx bracket places the can in a convenient location for easy access. I Hope this helps anyone else wanting to mount an Elite can on their ZL1.

One thing I've noticed is that everyone has the hoses from the engine to their can routed over the tensioner. Mine are routed under the tensioner. Does anyone see a problem with this? The tensioner gets awfully hot to the touch and I would hate to be damaging the hoses from the heat.

Did The Elite CC Come With Those Brass Fittings instead Of The Plastic Ones That RX Has? How Do You Empty The Elite Can?

Yes it does, you just screw the bottom off to empty.
