Help deciding the subs I need

I have a 2012 2LT and I've finally gotten done with the cosmetic and engine upgrades to my baby and its time for some bass. I've pretty much decided on ******** for my box, but I dont know if I should get a amp to boost my stock highs or replace them. Then I have to try and decide what sub to even use, im leaning towards P3's but I need opinions. So any advice on this subject would be a HUGE help thanks guys.

Are you looking for low end enhancement, or wanting to be heard from 2 blocks away?

Something in the middle of that, probably more towards the 2 blocks away though.

Do you have a budget in mind? It looks like you're wanting to replace your stock speakers and amp. I'd be happy to help you find a nice system within you budget.

To start things off, if you want to "get loud" I would suggest the ******** dual ported rear firing sub box. Here is a link: ********.com

If that box is too expensive, then this one would work nicely as well, but it is not ported.
Link to front firing dual 12" Camaro box at ********.

As far as subs, check out these Zuki Audio subs. Zuki is a small company out of Las Vegas that is making incredible custom amps and subwoofers. I'm planning on running Zuki amps on my next personal build. Don't be fooled by their hilarious wattage numbers - Their ELEETS 4 channel amp that they rate as 5 watts x 4 has been benched at 196W per channel - that is incredible when you see that contains no distortion.....check out this review - LINK

The budget is pretty open ended anywhere from $1,000 to probably $2,500 is ideal but honestly like i said previously its open ended. I would prefer some small show worthy speakers and sounds and I have no idea what would fit my car best. So hopefully with that budget in mind you can think of a good all around system.

Need? You don't need subs. You want them.

not to thread jack, but what's the point of rating their amps so low? Seems asinine.

They haven't explained why they rate things the way that they do, but I would speculate that it's an homage to their old school roots. It's really not much different than the old school "cheater" amps produced by just about all the big SPL competition companies back in the late 90's. Back then I had a USAmps VLX-25 that was rated at 12.5W per channel (50W bridged) at 4 ohms and 200W per channel at 1/4 ohm. The reality was that it actually put out in the realm of 2500-3000W. Back then the power classes in competitions were determined by the amp rating at 4 ohms. I miss that amp......

I'll get to work on just that!

I'll assume that you want to do the work yourself and you want to replace all your speakers and amps, but you want to retain your factory head unit. Is that accurate?
