Is it really just simple swap, bolt in place of the stock SS diff? I guess you'd have to at least get a programmer to update the speedometer, but that's it?

Whats the advantage of this vs just putting the 1LE gear set into a SS rear ?

Cost, unless you are able to install your own gears.

And there is no core charge, so you have your 3.45's as a spare if you want to throw the old diff back in again for some reason.
